Current Platforms

Rumble is a “Free Speech” platform. I put “Free Speech” in quotes because apparently the Trump Team pressured Rumble to add “Hate speech” restrictions before Donald Trump created an account on the platform. Since “Hate Speech” is usually used as an excuse to censor people by actually hateful people, as well as amoral corporations, it’s unsure whether the Nickers channel will be banned on Rumble.

If we did get banned, I wouldn’t care much, and the reason is because they seemingly not only allow all/most speech (unless it’s hateful maybe??) they also allow nudity on the front page. Nudity on the internet is not free speech, it’s degenerate, so due to the following factors:

  • I expect many of my viewers will be young men and boys
  • I am a young man/boy
  • I logically understand the negative effects of porn

I do not recommend Rumble, for anything. Actually I recommend you don’t use it for anything. Rumble is so badly moderated it actually causes me to somewhat appreciate YouTube’s censorship and moderation.

Odysee is a special platform, the reason I say it is special is because it is run on a blockchain, specifically the LBRY blockchain. This means nobody, technically, is able to censor content uploaded to the platform. I say technically because it is possible for Odysee to hide videos and delete channels. Crypto and blockchains are somewhat complicated but i’ll try to explain it simply.

Odysee is the front end website that people are able to use, they connect you to the backend, LBRY. Odysee is unable to delete videos they upload (for example on your behalf or otherwise), however they can prevent certain videos from being shown on the front end (website). I could be wrong about this, I am not a crypto bro or blockchain enthusiast. I will note though, I am not saying this is bad. It is probably good that Odysee can remove sexual or illegal content, and even though Odysee could censor people, they, from my experience, actually value and allow Freedom of Speech.

Along with allowing all different opinions and perspectives. They have no ads, a (in my opinion) great content promotion system with integrated crypto currency (LBRY), and all around better features than any other content website I’ve seen, in my opinion. such as:

  • A beautiful UI
  • The ability to stake credits (LBRY) in your own as well as other people’s channels and videos. (Thus promoting them above other content)
  • The ability to comment on channels
  • The ability to upload images and documents as well as videos
  • The ability to create multiple channels per account
  • Comments are hidden until clicked if the dislike to like ratio meets a certain threshold
  • The ability to block channels
  • Tasks (Such as watching videos, or referring users) that can be completed for credits (LBRY)

These are only some of the innovations that I’ve seen from Odysee. You might wonder however, if Odysee i so good, then why did I make a video catalog on nickers.org? The answer to that question is because of the negatives. such as:

  • While Odysee does a better job at moderating than Bitchute and Rumble. There is still a significant amount of high level content that contains inappropriate material. This can be mitigated by configuring your front page to only display content from channels you subscribe to, as well as blocking channels that post lewd/sensual content, however even after doing that myself, I sometimes still see lewd/sensual content. (and I’ve blocked approximately 130 channels)
  • Odysee also has some strange identity based categories, in these categories it seems that the people that are in them are not in them because of the content they make, necessarily, it seems that they are in the categories because they claim to fit a certain identity. My main problem with this is that they have a category with the name “Christian” and it contains a lot of new age zen shakra stuff, not sure if degrading the word Christian is bad, but I probably wouldn’t care if it wasn’t for the first reason, this just helped me realize my initial enthusiasm for Odysee was perhaps, ill-placed.

Due to the fact that it is the best content platform on this list in my opinion, I decided to use it for the video embeds on nickers.org. I believe Odysee doesn’t track you or sell your data, Odysee doesn’t show any ads, and if little jimmy goes to the website, he would be more protected on Odysee than he would be on Rumble or BitChute, and since Odysee allows comedy, I don’t expect that I will be banned.

Regarding BitChute.

BitChute is in a similar situation to Rumble, but with even less moderation. So it is unlikely that I would be banned anytime soon, because they may truly be a “Free Speech” platform, however, due to lack of moderation there is hardcore pornography that’s easy to stumble upon, even if you are searching for something innocent.

Also the BitChute mascot is a woman that they often depict wearing lewd and sensual clothing, so even some of the category icons contain partial nudity. Don’t go to this website, it’s the biggest piece of dog shit. There isn’t much more to say about BitChute, it is basically Rumble before Rumble existed, and still also during Rumble’s existence.

Bitchute and Rumble are bad because they neglect moderating their platforms.

Odysee is better because their moderation is better and they are innovative, however Odysee still allows some lewd/sensual content.

Nickers.org is the best because on Nickers.org, there is no lewd/sensual content. :cool_emoji:

(Please note I am not recommending that anyone create an Odysee account, this is simply here so in the case you decide to, you can help promote Nickers Videos)
